Natural Cleaning Products Pack

The natural cleaners of the Cooperative VIO.ME are produced on the basis of white wine vinegar and soap – made exclusively out of vegetable oils, as it is not in our philosophy to use animal derivatives. They cover all the needs of a home (washing dishes, clothes, surfaces, windows), trying to pass a different philosophy on the use of cleaners.

But what do we mean when we say “natural cleaners” and what is their difference from conventional synthetic cleaners on the market?

For us, natural cleaners consist of natural ingredients, that exist or are produced by nature. Natural ingredients can also be directly extracted using simple methods (such as simple chemical reactions) or can be the result of natural biological processes (eg vinegar, alcohol, salt, essential oils). In contrast, conventional commercial cleaners contain strong synthetic raw materials from non-renewable resources (such as petroleum derivatives) and many synthetic additives that serve “consumer” interests (eg foam boosters, bleaching agents).

Also, these products may not cost much in relation to their effectiveness, but their “environmental cost” is huge. Many of the ingredients they contain are toxic and polluting substances (1,4-dioxane, phthalates, 2-butoxyethanol) which have long-term effects on the environment, animals (see water eutrophication phenomenon, bioaccumulation), and human health ours and our children’s (see irritations, respiratory problems, hormonal disorders). On the contrary, natural cleaners are much safer both for the environment (biodegradable) and for our health (non-toxic).

Are natural cleaners as effective as conventional ones?

Many people are used to common commercial cleaners, which are very strong, last a long time and are designed to make household life “easier”. These products may make cleaning “easier”, but they do not make it “better”. If we use the corresponding natural cleaners in the appropriate way, we can have a satisfactory and safer result. For example, sometimes we may need to scrub surfaces and utensils a little more or use hot water to clean some stains well. Also, if we clean relatively often, dirt does not have time to accumulate and thus we avoid harsh cleaners which in such cases seem to be the only solution.

Our natural products, compared to conventional synthetics, may not be concentrated, nor highly active, some may need shaking to homogenize and some may freeze at low temperatures, but they clean our homes and workplaces without burdening the environment or harming our health. We also use them in our homes, because they do not leave residues on our dishes or clothes, unlike conventional synthetic commercial products and bleaches that slowly accumulate in our body and cause health problems.

In no case, therefore, do we treat them as second-rate products, but as quality natural products that satisfy people who wish to use only natural cleaners. We move forward with the aim of continuously improving our products, staying firm in our principles and evolving by listening to the needs of society and our loyal supporters!
